STORAGE

There are different things you can use for storage.  There are both physical and none physical means which are useful.

USB STICK

A USB stick is something which you can buy from most supermarkets, online and local computer shops.

These devices are very simple to use and can be used on any computer. This would allow you to store your CVs and cover letters once you have written them. This gives you the ability to update your work on any computer. This would allow you to use this at your local job centre or library.

BACK UPS – When using a USB stick make sure that all data is backed up.  Backing up is very simple just make sure to regularly copy your files onto your computer. This would be in case of the USB stick being lost or broken.

CLOUD STORAGE

There are ways of storing all of your information on the cloud (online storage). This is a way of storing your files online. This is compatible with all devices including tablets, phones and computers. This is one of the best ways of working from place to place and not having to worry about losing it.

When using cloud storage you would have to choose a company which hosts this. There are a lot of different companies which do this for free.  When finding the right one for you all you would need to do is sign up to it.

Google Drive                          Dropbox

These services are very simple all you would need is an email address to sign up.  If you do not have an email address then go to the Email setup page here.  Some of these websites you may already have an account made.  An example of this would be if you have a Google email address then that would link to Google Drive automatically.

BACK UPS – Back-ups of your files should still be made on a computer or USB stick.  This is because no one can guarantee that your files will not be lost.  This will be a part of the terms and conditions of the website you choose.
